Big brother to the 380 Santego and featuring an almost identical floorplan, the Carver 38 Santego was one of the early sedan bridge designs that have since become popular with buyers (note that a later 380 Santego model became available in 1993.)  She was constructed on a moderate deadrise hull with balsa coring in the hullsides and a solid glass bottom.  The Santego is a great boat for entertaining, and she has one of the slickest bridge layouts imaginable.  Guest seating surrounds the elevated helm console, and a cutout forward reveals a set of molded steps leading to the foredeck - a real necessity since there are no sidedecks.  Below, the Santego's single-level interior uses the full width of the hull to create a cavernous main salon.  A two-stateroom floorplan was introduced in 1990 as an alternative to the original single-stateroom layout.  For power, the Santego uses 454cid gas engines with V-drives located beneath the cockpit sole.  Cruising speed is 20 mph, and the top speed is around 27 mph.
