A good-looking boat with her rakish flybridge and swept-back
arch, the Bayliner 2858 Ciera Command Bridge is an inexpensive
family cruiser with a surprisingly large and complete interior.
There aren't a lot of 28-foot flybridge models on the market as
most buyers in this size range prefer express (or express bridge)
designs. The floorplan includes a private mid-cabin berth
below the raised salon settee as well as V-berths forward -
weekend accommodations for four adults and a couple of kids.
A lower helm is standard, and wraparound cabin windows along with
plenty of headroom add considerably to the impression of the
interior space. Like all Bayliners, the detailing and
joinerwork are pretty basic but the price will certainly appeal to
budget-minded boaters. A single 7.4L Mercruiser I/O provides a
cruising speed of around 18 knots and a top speed of just under 30
knots.
