The Trojan 8.6 Meter Express is
a conservative mid-cabin family cruiser with expansive interior
accommodations (for a 28-footer) and good performance. Hull
construction is solid fiberglass, and her Delta-Conic hull design
insures a stable ride in most conditions. The floorplan of the 8.6 is
arranged with double berths in both staterooms, a full-size
convertible dinette, a complete galley, and a small head - a practical
layout taking full advantage of the relatively wide beam. The cockpit
is set up with a triple-wide elevated helm seat, removable bench
seating at the transom, and a transom cut-out for easier access to the
swim platform. An affordable boat when she was new, the absence of a
modern Euro-style wraparound windshield and integral swim platform
gives her a very conservative appearance compared to most the
competition. Standard 260hp stern drives will cruise the Trojan 8.6
Meter Express at a brisk 25 knots and reach a top speed of about 37
knots.
